Michael D. Carter, CEO of Intercultural Competence Edge, Inc.
Michael D. Carter is the founder and CEO of Intercultural Competence Edge, Inc. a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion firm that focuses on delivering high-quality intercultural competence education. Michael teaches that once we shift our mindsets to a more interculturally competent orientation, we allow diversity, equity, and inclusion to flourish within our organization. His main responsibility is to collaborate with organizations as they begin their diversity, equity and inclusion journey and match them with the right educational partner. Michael is also an experienced facilitator of intercultural competence training and teaches frequently.
Michael has been involved in diversity and inclusion work for over 30 years. Prior to starting Intercultural Competence Edge, Michael spent 25 years at the 3M Company. While at 3M, he headed the 3M Industrial Sector’s largest initiative to increase the organization’s intercultural competence through educational workshops. He has also served on many corporate diversity steering committees, task forces and employee affinity groups. In April 2016, he received the President’s Circle Award for his contributions to the 3M Company’s African American Network.
Michael obtained his BS in business from Syracuse University and an MBA from the University of Rochester in Rochester N.Y. Although he spent many years as a successful sales and marketing professional, he moved into the DE&I field because of his passion for studying and teaching intercultural competence. Michael is also a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory©, an assessment tool that enables individuals and organizations to learn more about their level of intercultural competence and then improve their ability to bridge cultural differences. Over the years, Michael has developed many training tools and exercises that help workshop participants understand and become comfortable with the concepts of intercultural competence, equity, and inclusion.

Melanie Miller, Senior Facilitator
Melanie is a highly accomplished and sought-after consultant and speaker offering organizations consulting and training services, keynotes, and design with a focus on optimizing organizational effectiveness. Having conducted hundreds of workshops and speaking engagements, Melanie consistently receives extraordinary reviews and outstanding evaluations.
Previously, Melanie served corporate America in a sales and advertising capacity. She uses her “business lens” to provide organizational development consulting, training, culture audits, speaking/keynoting and needs assessments throughout North America and internationally. Additionally, she has developed numerous programs incorporating the multi-facets of leading, managing and leveraging organizational strength through leadership and inclusion. In addition to being certified in several national programs and consulting for leading companies, one example of Melanie’s commitment to excellence is her multi-year relationship with IBM, including being charter faculty for the implementation of their groundbreaking Minority Women in Leadership Institute. A featured speaker at the Harvard University Women’s Leadership Institute, Melanie has also been quoted by several leading industry publications and has been heard on TV, radio, and podcasts. She has provided keynotes for several organizations focusing on Inclusion, Unconscious Bias and Women in Leadership. Additionally, Melanie has worked in a leadership role with several associations: e.g., The Johnnetta B. Cole Global Diversity and Inclusion Institute’s Chief Diversity Officer Forum, Linkage, and The Multicultural Forum. She is also on the senior faculty for The American Institute for Managing Diversity’s Diversity Leadership Academy, a community-based initiative. Furthermore, she partners with the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and Scott Page on inclusion research and consulting.
Armers Moncure, Senior Facilitator
In 1999, he began as a diversity practitioner at Allegis Group; the largest privately held staffing company in the U.S. Where, in addition to his prime duties of driving business growth, Armers took on the responsibility of developing and executing a strategic plan to recruit and retain more diverse talent, create more inclusive work environments, and participate in the development of the corporate mission statement for the company’s Diversity Council.
Today, his areas of speaking, consulting and training focus and expertise include Unconscious Bias, Cultural Competence, Employee Engagement, Public Speaking, and Presentation Skills. Recently, Armers piloted new approaches to integrating best practices in Diversity and Inclusion and Employee Engagement.
Since 2010, Armers has trained over 75,000 Leaders, Managers, and Staff throughout the US, in 10 countries, and on three continents. His experience includes working with everyone from the Board of Directors, C-Suite members, and National and Multinational Leadership Teams to VPs, Directors, and staff, across 100 different companies in more than 30 different industries.

Jonamay (Joni) Lambert, Senior Facilitator
With over 25 years of experience, Jonamay has engaged with a broad range of industries from non-profit agencies in the Fortune 500, 100 and many of the Top 50 companies recognized by Diversity, Inc. Her mission is to ensure that every person has the opportunity to contribute fully and each feel valued because of the many possibilities and contributions that they bring.
Jonamay is known for designing an integrated enterprise-wide D&I strategy based on business objectives that drive outcomes. She and the Lambert Associates provides support through consulting, including the development of business case, design, and facilitation of D&I education and coaching. Jonamay is known for using a customized approach and attracting and retaining a world-class team of Associates which results in multi-year contracts with a broad spectrum of clients from financial, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, government, non-profits, and education. Some of her many previous and current clients include Allstate, CNA, State Farm, WellPoint, PNC, S&P, Sara Lee, Sears, Baxter, SourceAmerica, and University of Michigan to name a few.
Believing in the importance of understanding culture, assessment is another core strength. Jonamay has contributed to the D&I Assessment field by co-developing The School Diversity Inventory (2001) and Spectra Diversity and Inclusion Profile – 2016.
Joni is a pioneer in the design and facilitation of diversity education. She was awarded grants by the Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Humanities for the design and delivery of D&I education to audiences with special needs.
She is the author of Trainer’s Diversity Source Book, the series of 50 Diversity and Inclusion Activities and numerous other published works used by hundreds of domestic and global organizations. Jonamay is also editor and contributing author of, “Global Competence.” 50 training activities for succeeding in international business
Jonamay is recognized as a thought-leader in D&I and has partnered with other firms and organizations to create unique products and services. Working with Diversity Best Practices, Joni was the subject matter expert and lead instructional designer of Next Generation Diversity Competencies (NGDC) for Practitioners and ERG Leaders.
Ms. Lambert has been featured in Diversity Inc., quoted by the media, and has presented at national and international conferences. She is a faculty member of the Summer Institute of Intercultural Communication and is certified administrator and coach of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI). Jonamay holds a BS in education an MA in Counseling Psychology and is a certified coach.
Enidio Magel, Senior Facilitator
Enidio is a business consultant. He delivers a wide range of leadership programs focusing on diversity, inclusion and unconscious bias, respect in the workplace and intercultural leadership.
His global reach includes four continents and countries such as Argentina, Bangkok, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. He has worked closely with major clients like Bank of New York Mellon, The National Basketball Association, Ernst & Young, Littler Mendelson P.C, ExxonMobil, Johnson & Johnson, JPMorgan Chase, LEGO, Shell Oil, Ford Motor Co., and UNICEF, among others.
Enidio is a published writer and a visiting faculty member of the Omega Institute. Some of his writing contributions include “Managing Differences at Work”, “Strength in Diversity” and “How well Managed Cultural Training Programs Can Turn Conflict into Profits”. His writing has been featured in Parenting, El Mundo, and The Austin American Statesman magazines and newspapers. Prior to the Multi-Cultural Institute, Enidio was part of the executive team that founded People Express Airlines.
Mr. Magel holds a cross-cultural Psychology degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts in Spiritual Psychology. Enidio is fluent in both Spanish and English and is a certified medical interpreter. He currently resides in Austin, Texas.

- A comprehensive, skills-based, cross-cultural training program for a major international airline’s customer service division. Training focuses on the knowledge and skills needed to deliver effectively targeted service support to a multicultural client base.
